School Trip Cut Short After Student Eats Pot Brownie
The annual trip for West Bloomfield High physics students was cut short Wednesday when the student complained of sickness and was taken to a medical facility at the park in Sandusky, Ohio, said Joey Spano of the West Bloomfield School District.
The boy then admitted to having eaten a pot brownie.
Cedar Park officials contacted a school representative as well as the park police. Police wrote a report, but no criminal charges were filed, park spokeswoman Robin Innes said Thursday.
While administrators believe there were only a few students involved, they decided it was best to bring everyone home early, said Spano, the West Bloomfield district’s director of community relations and education.
“We’re saddened that some students acted inappropriately, and we’ll deal with it according to our school policy,” Spano said.
School administrators were interviewing students and conducting an investigation, she said, adding the police liaison officer probably would be involved.
