Work on holiday earns photographers awards
Ross Giblin came first in the series of travel images section for his shots of glamour camping at the Bedwell River outpost on Vancouver Island, Canada.
One morning it was all misty … It was actually quite beautiful, Giblin said.
His photos were published in The Dominion Post travel section in October last year.
Kent Blechynden received a special mention in the overall travel photographer of the year competition and won the best unpublished travel image section for a photo taken while on holiday in Vietnam.
His winning entry was of a toothless old woman in the central city of Hoi An.
Blechynden was also highly commended in the series section for a photo essay on his trip to Vietnam which ran in The Dominion Post in August
