BMS baseball wins, softball loses close one

Benton Middle School won its baseball game at Hamilton County 17-4, while the BMS softball team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Foxes.

BASEBALL

Cole Forby picked up the win for the Jr. Ranger, as well as leading an 11-hit offense with a 4 for 5 day at the dish, driving in a pair of runs.

Ethan Hughes was 3 for 5 with three RBI, Bennett Page was 2 for 5 with two RBI, Tyler Owens was 1 for 3 with two runs driven in, and Tyler Neal was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

SOFTBALL

Benton fell behind 2-0 after one inning, but cut that lead in half in the fourth when Jordan Wills drove in a run with a single.

Down 3-1, BMS scored in the fifth when Morgan Corn singled and scored on a steal of home to make the final 3-2.

Brittany Pedigo pitched for the Rangerettes and struck out nine.

BMS will play at Herrin this afternoon.
